I have been sewing for over 40 years, with techniques being taught to me by my surrogate mother. These skills allowed me to follow my passion into quilting, which I have been practicing since. With extensive travel around the world, I often visit fabric and textile stores and museums hoping to find inspiration and possibly take home part of the cultures and experiences to add into my textile creations. Through this travel and exploration of cultures, I found a desire to design and create my own prints, colourways, and fabrics.

With inspiration from the Japanese tradition of Boro boro, the practice of laying used and worn fabrics to create a sustainable approach to clothing, home goods (among others) this allows for a cyclical environment of sustainability in the reuse of discarded and pre-loved fabrics, which I hope to incorporate into my own work in an effort to become more sustainable and to give these fabrics new life.
